Summer Learning Journey Week 1 Day 3 Pt 2

This week is the first week of Summer Learning Journey. This is Week 1 Day 3 Activity 2.

Some pros are:
  1. You get to see endangered animals that not a lot of other people would get to see.
  2. You get to spend a whole lot of time with awesome animals.
  3. You get to work in the nature and not in a office.

Some cons are:
  1. You can get hurt by animals.
  2. You see animals dying.
  3. You might have to move far away from your family.

I would absolutely want to be a DOC Ranger, because I love animals and being able to help species that could never be seen again. Plus you would be able to always be in nature. Anyways I would just love to work with animals. So Yes I would want to be a DOC Ranger.

I hope you enjoyed my post. Feel free to comment.

  1. Hi Jasper,

My name is Susie and I am a member of the Summer Learning Journey team this year. I will be commenting on your blog as we will be learning about our world and the environment that surrounds us! I hope you are as excited as I am.

I enjoyed reading through your list of pros and cons of becoming a DOC ranger. As you have mentioned, saying goodbye to the animals would be extremely sad when the time comes. I am a fond nature lover and I am in love with animals as well. I am delighted to hear that you would like to become a DOC Ranger. Do you have a favourite animal? Any pets? My favourite animals would have to be dogs, horses and elephants. (To be honest, I have much more).

Have you also heard of the organisation named SPCA? SPCA is short for 'Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals' and they help protect over 45,000 animals in New Zealand every year! You should check them out if you haven't heard of them yet. One of my goals is to volunteer for this organisation one day :)

Have you thought about your goals for 2019? If so, what are they? I would love to know!

Looking forward to hearing back from you,
    Susie

  2. HI Jasper,

Great to read another completed Summer Learning Journey post from you, good job!

Being a DOC Ranger would be a pretty cool job wouldn't it, it would definitely be something very different. It would be amazing to be surrounded by nature and all of the different and endangered wildlife. What New Zealand endangered animals do you think you'd like to see the most?

You seem to have great empathy for animals and the wildlife which is lovely to see. It would be hard being faced with the reality of animals being hurt or dying however being a DOC Ranger you would most probably be able to support and save hurt animals too!

Until next time, happy blogging. :)
